This week, February 21st - 25th, is South Dakota School Board Recognition Week. Please join me in recognizing all current and former school board members for their work in making the Ethan School District one of the best in the state of South Dakota! Our Girls BBall team with play their region game Tuesday, Feb 22nd in Ethan @6:00pm. Regular passes are no longer accepted for regional games. We hope to see everyone there to cheer our girls on!
Read Across America Week is coming up February 28th-March 4th and this is always an exciting time! They get to have fun dress up days, celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday, and of course READ! On Thursday March 3rd we will be doing our DEAR time with the whole school PreK-12th! Last year it was a hit and loved by everyone! 🙂
Asking for donations of drinks for this special day. We would need around 285 drinks to cover all kids PreK-12th. The kids will also get to eat popcorn! Thank you so much in advance for your continued support and donations. This means so much to the teachers and kids!

The basketball game at the Corn Palace Thursday night is a home game for us. Activity passes will be honored at the door. Please make sure you have your passes to show to the ticket takers upon entering. If you don't have electronic or your paper pass please contact the Business office by Thursday morning! Thanks!

We want to let everyone know the Food Service is struggling receiving food items they have been ordering, there seems to be a shortage in everything!! That being said we have another MENU CHANGE -

February 15th - Pork Fritters with Mashed Potatoes (this may change if they don't come in)

Congratulations to Jalen Thomas on her 1st Place finish and Verity Thomas on her 3rd Place finish at the Mitchell Area Local Spelling Bee on Saturday. In the FINALS Jalen got 1st Place in the 8th Grade Division and Verity got 2nd in the 7th Grade Division. Way to go girls!!!!
Congrats to Aubrie Biteler who qualified for state gymnastics in Vault yesterday! State is in Mitchell beginning next week Friday.
We will have our Senior Recognition tonight vs. KWL. This will take place prior to the beginning of the Girls Varsity Game. Hope to see everyone there!

ETHAN SCHOOL DISTRICT IS HIRING A HEAD MAINTENANCE/CUSTODIAN
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Responsible for ensuring that the school facilities remain clean and in working order.
2. Directs the maintenance, repair, and replacement of all custodial equipment
3. Carry on such other activities as requested to create the best possible conditions for the education of the children.
4. Does minor repairs to building and grounds as needed
5. Maintains tools and maintenance equipment in safe working order and keeps maintenance shop clean
6. Maintaining an attractive, sanitary, and safe facility for students, staff and public.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Good Physical Health including ability to lift 50lbs or more. Frequent bending, carrying, lifting or pushing ability.
